Since 70s, housing of VDO analog speedometers have made from plastic. Plastic has replaced metal and chrome finish housing. The VDO TRIO70 has only an aluminum frame around the glass.

Trio70 is the most common bicycle speedometer from VDO family. This speedometer has the largest dial among all of the speedometers.
